uVme's parent company, Virtual World Direct Limited (VWD), was established in 2002. VWD is a member company of the Virtual World Group PLC. Virtual World Group PLC has business interests and member companies around the world, with locations including the Caribbean, Central America, the British Isles, and India, with Group Headquarters in the Isle of Man… a truly international business. The core business of the Group is that of "virtual entertainment", and it has built its brands to be recognised around the world, all supported by its member companies, which provide the following services: Operations; Research and Development; Games Design and Testing; Systems and Infrastructure Support; and International Member Support. VWD has thousands of members worldwide, all of whom enjoy the advantages that membership brings. Since its inception and the start of trading operations, VWD has paid out millions of pounds to its members.
